Allotment update!!

So, not really had a chance to do much in the last week, but here's a few quick pics of the allotment from last time we were there.

We've rotovated about a fifth of it so far and the bits that we have rotovated are actually looking pretty decent, and the soil is decent.

I'd originally hoped to get it all rotovated by march before I got planting but that's evidently not gonna happen - its a much bigger job than anticipated and we just keep finding more and more rubbish underneath and several layers of carpet (to any of you with allotment, don't ever lay carpet down unless you intend to remove it before the next tenant!). I've got several fruit bushes (blackberry and raspberrys) and some asparagus and rhubarb plants that desperately need planting so I'm gonna try and at least get those in this week and maybe some parsnips sown, and then I can get on with some more rotovating.

In the meantime.....here's a lovely amaryllis that's just come into bloom! The first of around 10 I planted in January! Nice to have a bit of spring colour. It's not that far away folks!
